Mother Teresa, also known as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her work in serving the poorest of the poor. She founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious order dedicated to caring for the sick, dying, and abandoned, particularly in India. Mother Teresa’s selfless dedication to the marginalized and her unwavering commitment to the dignity of every human life made her a global symbol of compassion and charity. She was canonized as a saint in 2016.

Which Catholic nun is known for her visions of Jesus and the Divine Mercy devotion?

Saint Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun, received visions of Jesus in the 1930s, leading to the devotion of Divine Mercy. Jesus instructed her to spread His message of mercy, which led to the now-famous Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Divine Mercy image. Her diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul, has inspired millions, and Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated worldwide on the Sunday after Easter. She was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2000.
